Chris Brown: Positive or Negative Role Model?

Celebrities are always in the spotlight whether it is when they are performing and doing interviews or having  stories printed in magazines.  You would think they would always be on their best behavior knowing that they are constantly being followed and their actions are going to be broadcasted for the world to see, right?  WRONG!

Not only are there adults looking up to celebrities as role models, but children and teens as well.  It is great to look up to celebrities and want to be like them and do the things they do but some times they are not always caught doing the "right" or best things.  Half of the time, articles/videos/photos portray celebrities as crazy and not stable.  Some times I think that people forget that celebrities are HUMAN too.

That leads me to Chris Brown.  He has been in the spotlight since the age of 16 as an innocent teen trying to make it big in the music industry and is now a successful 21 year old musician, songwriter, dancer, and actor. With millions of people supporting his career and looking up to him, he has made a name for himself that people will probably never forget.

The real question is whether or not he is a positive or negative role model after the series of events that have gone on in his life in the last two years.  There is the image of Chris Brown as a fun loving, happy go lucky artist that people love and then there is the image of Chris Brown as an unstable, high tempered, tattooed guy that people do not think he should be able to do what he does.

His actions against previous girlfriend Rihanna were in no means positive.  He dealt with the consequences and has moved on with his life.  It has been 2 years since the incident and he is trying to put that in the past.  After performing community service and learning how to deal with his anger and learning more about himself as a person, he has moved on to continue making his music.  As he has grown as an artist, his music has grown as well.  It is more vulgar and he speaks about topics that may not be for the younger crowds.  With his latest outrage on Good Morning, America because interviewer Robin crossed the line while asking questions about the previous incident with Rihanna, it raises the question of whether or not he truly is a good or negative role model.

So, if EVERYTHING is taken into consideration, positive and negative, while remembering that Chris Brown is a human being as well as a celebrity..will Chris Brown ever be on top of his game is all aspects and not just in regards to music?  Will all of the media done on him ever be positive?
